Mel spent the last few years spearheading all general tourism representation and marketing/ communications for the Republic of Indonesia within the United States and Canada. A privatized tourism organization was formed, Indonesian Council of Tourism Partners, Inc. (ICTP) and appointed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of The Republic of Indonesia to evaluate North American market feasibility, identify viable market segmentations, implement and develop travel industry strategic alliances, launch co-operative advertising and promotional programs, establish a new wholesale and retail travel network, construct media tours, provide PR/media relations/crisis public relations management, new product development of wholesale travel products and overall consumer communications and branding efforts to reposition Indonesia’s battered image within North America and increase passenger arrivals into Indonesia.   As President of ETurbo Communications she works on a range of clients and projects, all within the travel and tourism sectors, including government special projects to increase investment in infrastructure.
