Kwakye Donkor, Africa Tourism Partners, South Africa

Kwakye Donkor is a Non-Executive Director of African Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship, Ghana and South Africa and the Founder of Africa Tourism Leadership Forum. He was the Marketing and Communications Director of the Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa (RETOSA), the tourism arm of Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) from 2009 to March, 2017. He was responsible for regional tourism Strategic Marketing, Strategic Brand Management and Communications, Tourism Infrastructure Investment Promotions, Advocacy Stakeholder Relations Corporate Communications and SADC contact point at RETOSA.

He is the CEO of Africa Tourism Partners and based in South Africa.

Prior to joining RETOSA, Kwakye was the Executive Marketing Director of Plattner Golf (Pty) Ltd t/a Fancourt, one of the leading golf resorts in the world, where he was responsible for Strategic Marketing, Corporate Communications, Global Business Development, Real Estate and Hotel Marketing, Mega Events Management and the Formation of Business of Golf South Africa. He has also worked for, among others, Provident Financial (UK and South Africa) and African Bank Investment Ltd (ABIL). Kwakye has played a leading role in the South Africa golf estate development as tourism and hospitality related industry in Southern Africa from 2003 to date.

He has over 20 years of Strategic Marketing, Brand Managements, Public Relations, Investment Promotions, Business Development and Corporate communications in a wide range of environments including property development, tourism and hospitality and financial services. Also, Kwakye has played important roles in major events including the 2003 Presidents Cup, Inaugural Women’s World Cup, SA Open Championship and 2005 Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert a Business of Golf South Africa and 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Kwakye Donkor is a Chartered Marketer with a Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Graduate Diplomas in Marketing and Graduate Diploma in Advertising from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM), and MBA from International Centre (IMC-UK) and Business School Netherlands.
